Congratulations, you’re alive.
If that’s not something to smile about,
then I don’t know what is.”

Hey there beautiful person,
I have a question for you …
How many times do you rely on external sources or people to make you happy? Hmmmm, maybe a bit too much? I do know that one way to figure that out is if you are completely alone. No phone, no laptop, no people, just you and you alone.
Being confined in a space of silence where you can only hear yourself breathing is quite hard for many people. This may be TMI, but I find that the shower is that place for me. After a workout, there is nothing better than letting the water run over your body. I have associated cleansing process of how I cleanse my mind as well.
Allowing yourself to face a challenge mentally is something only you can do. Connecting it with emotion (tears, crying and just letting go) takes courage. I know that once you become so use to something and it becomes a habit, it’s hard to re-learn how to find your feet. Whether you are giving up smoking, overcoming a death in your family (I’ve been struggling with this for months), or dealing with separation anxiety, it all comes down to acceptance.
There is no happiness in life without acceptance. There is no true happiness if you cannot be honest with yourself – Sumia Levy
There are many days I lay and question why God took away my grandmother so suddenly. I think about why I am the way I am, I question why I am my worst self critic? Why do I become a victim of people’s cruelty? Why do I not let the world see me, the vulnerable me. Maybe these answers require my own introspection, and that’s the point. It’s an inside job.
Being happy has nothing to do with others, because you cannot enjoy life if you depend on someone else to make you feel complete, to rely on materialistic things to make you feel superior than others, to allow your weakness to make you feel inferior.
Happiness is an inside job. Be the one who makes yourself happy. You come first in YOUR life.
Then only … can you bring happiness to the world and others
